In 2020, plan administrators and health care providers are neck-in-neck in terms of consumers’ comfort around discussing health care costs, while providers remain the most trusted source overall in health care. The study also revealed that many health care consumers are on board with sharing more of their data when they know it will result in personalized, actionable communications about their health.
Supporting figures for these facts come from HealthSparq, a Cambia company dedicated to powering health care transparency and guidance for health plan members. In their recent survey of over 1,000 Americans regarding interactions with their health plans and health care cost estimator tools, the study found awareness and adoption are increasing.
