Modern Healthcare Tackles the Meaning of Value in Care

December 11, 2017

The definition of quality and value in health care and the need for a more consumer-driven health care culture was the focus of a panel presentation at the recent Modern Healthcare Leadership Symposium in Arizona. Cambia CEO Mark Ganz joined CEO of Alliance of Community Health Plans Ceci Connolly, CEO of Keck Medicine at USC Tom Jackiewicz and CEO of Boston Medical Center Kate Walsh in a panel discussing some of the top issues impacting health care.

One of the major topics during the panel was payment revolution in health care. Mark shared that we need to create a system that is focused on what health care consumers need, and one that innovates based on those needs instead of using profits as a roadblock. He shared Cambia’s commitment to palliative care as an example of seeing past the profit and doing what’s right for individuals and their families.

After the session, Modern Healthcare's Matthew Weinstock sat down with Mark to learn more about what Cambia is doing to drive consumer or patient-focused innovation in health care. Read highlights from their conversation in "Q&A with Cambia Health Solutions CEO Mark Ganz: 'Our competitors now are Amazon and Google'." Modern Healthcare also published a transcript from the panel online.
