Video Blog: Cambia Red Seat Tour with American Heart Association Empowers Women on Journey for Better Health

November 12, 2018

She is a mother. She is a daughter. She is a friend. Every 80 seconds a woman loses her life to heart disease, that’s nearly 1 in 3 women, who die from cardiovascular disease every year.

Do you know the warning signs?

This Fall, Cambia was proud to support the American Heart Association of Oregon and Southwest Washington on a four-stop tour - the Cambia Red Seat Tour - around the region, raising awareness for women’s heart health. Hosted by generous partners at OHSU, Nautilus, and Bob’s Red Mill, as well as the Go Red for Women annual luncheon, the Cambia Red Seat Tour featured Cambia’s Carol Kruse together with heart disease and stroke survivors, leading physicians, including Cambia's Dr. Cheryl Pegus, a cardiologist, and community activists for an important dialogue about heart disease research and prevention, empowering women through theier experience with health care.

When we defined our Cause more than 15 years ago, we got back to our roots of neighbor helping neighbor and solving for the needs of individuals and their families in our communities. We are humbled to support important community events hosted by organizations like the American Heart Association to ensure individuals in our communities have the health care resources they need along life’s journey.

The AHA’s “Go Red for Women” campaign is more than the marketing initiative; it is a movement to raise visibility, fund research, and educate more women about their risk for heart disease. Find out how you can be a catalyst for change in your own community: Cambia Red Seat Tour Video Recap.
